Nike x Homer: A Study in Legacy and Sustainability
Undergraduate Project, 2022
The University of Texas at Austin
In this conceptual collaboration between Nike and Homer—the luxury jewelry brand founded by Frank Ocean—Lē developed a collection honoring the late Princess Diana. Created during his undergraduate studies, the project explored the intersection of athleticism, ornamentation, and legacy through the lens of sustainable design.
Drawing from Diana’s dual public image—elegant icon and everyday humanitarian—Lē reimagined athleisure wear with a regal, understated softness. The collection integrated ethically sourced materials and repurposed textiles, emphasizing recyclability without compromising aesthetic integrity. Custom embellishments and accessory concepts nod to Homer’s graphic minimalism while grounding the work in Diana’s lasting cultural impact.
This project functioned as both a material study and a tribute: blending Nike’s technical innovation with Homer’s artisanal edge, and layering themes of remembrance, resilience, and responsible production. Through this project, Lē interrogated what it means to design for legacy—placing sustainability not as a feature, but as a foundation.
